PSHE
At Moreton our curriculum promotes learners who are: Healthy, resilient, creative, inquisitive, respectful citizens who will make a difference in the world. Developing the whole child personally and socially is important to us and we ensure that children understand the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up. We provide our children with opportunities for them to learn about rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society. Children are encouraged to develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life. Our curriculum links to our whole school values and collective worship themes.
How we teach PSHE
We have six themes that weaves across each year group:
- Dreams and Aspirations
- Healthy Me
- Healthy Relationships
- Family Life
- Our Wonderful World
- Changes
We use a variety of resources to teach PSHE from the PSHE association, Discovery Health and the Goodness and Mercy scheme. We utilise our forest school so that children can develop their inter-personal and communication skills by working together to solve problems. Our RSHE policy details how we teach about relationships in an age appropriate way.
